Applicants applying under this particular business category are encouraged. The processing time to become landed immigrants is fast and swift. (it varies depending on country of origin) You must however, meet the following criteria:

• has business experience
• has a legally obtained net worth of at least C$ 800,000; and
• indicates in writing to an officer that they intend to make or have made an investment ( C$ 400,000 to Canadian Government, and be returned to applicant in 5 years without interest

Entrepreneur

Unlike the investor category, the Entrepreneur class needs to meet certain conditions before they can become permanent residence. However, the basic criteria that need to be met are:

• has business experience
• has legally obtained minimum net worth (C$ 300,000)
• provides a written statement to an officer that they intend and will be able to meet the conditions as stipulated in the Immigration Acts and Regulation

Self-Employed

This particular class is geared toward attracting world-renowned artists, athletes, musicians and the like into Canada. They are assessed according to certain points systems basically centered on their work experience. However, other factors do come into play such as educational level of spouse, previous study in Canada, previous work in Canada and family relationship in Canada.
